I'd disagree that it's significantly harder. But yeah, this is many, many orders of magnitude harder than building an expansion for a single-player game.The only thing you've mentioned that's specific to Genshin is the 6 week cycle. In the sea of content already written and localized, who is going to have both the game knowledge and time to re-check all this already-localized copy for extremely nitpicky (but not unimportant) details like this?This isn't by any means trying to defend any specific decisions they made or priorities they've chosen. But then, during the closed beta, they made changes to skills that unexpectedly had a cascade reaction on this particular artifact. Most likely all this copy and artwork was prepared a long time ago during the original development cycle so that it could then be sent out for localization. Trying to renovate a ship while it's presently journeying across the ocean.If you consider the issue for something like this.
Sometimes you have to do it anyway, but more often you do it when it's needed for another reason to help you move forward. Chipping away at problems like this requires stepping back. They're in the process right now of finalizing patch 2.3 content while others are working on 2.4+ and others still are starting on Sumeru. And honestly, programming problems - even the hard ones - are much easier to solve than people problems.I can't see any good reason why they're so slow to chip away at them.Because they're constantly focused on moving forward. You're thinking of this as a programming problem, but it's a process and project management problem.
